One-of-a-kind tour which opened up my eyes to the people who worked through the night to bring us our fresh fish and seafood to the tables, and how they are transported from various places to Singapore. Kudos to them! Jun Ting and Han Bin, conducted the tour in an engaging and interactive way, thus there was never a dull moment as they answered various questions from the group. It is very heartwarming to see two passionate, young chaps in an unconventional trade and I hope they can take it to greater heights. Definitely worth missing a few hours of sleep for a fruitful way to spend Saturday morning!

Can't get enough of the tour! My family and I enjoyed the exclusive and educational tour of Jurong Fishery Port. For the past 51 years, the first fishery port in SG see large imports of fish daily. I learned real-life economics of how demand and supply drives pricing across the market. Particularly intrigued by the abundance of fresh fishes and seafood spread out across the market. I have a new found respect for all fish wholesalers who puts up with the fishy scent, sacrificing sleep over work and the long hours they put in everyday. Makes me cherish my seafood more now. Thank you Han Bin and colleagues for bringing us on the tour!

The Jurong Fishery Port tour is a great after-dark experience of Singapore! Guide for the night, Han Bin, together with his colleagues, led an hour+ long informative and insightful tour of the port and fish market that Hai Sia calls home. Enlightening to learn about how the fishery industry works through close-knit relationships. It's an eye-opening deep dive into how the food gets on your table. Get yourself on the waitlist!

My family and I attended an informative and eye-opening tour conducted by Melvin and Han Bin. They were very patient and knowledgeable, no question were too silly. Best of all was that the 1.5 hours' tour is conducted free. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Thank you.

My wife and I recently toured the Jurong Fishery Port, hosted by Mr. Melvin of Hai Sia Seafood. The walking tour is very well organized and Mr. Melvin is very friendly, warm and knowledgeable. We learned a lot from the 90 mins walking tour. The seafood offered by Hai Sia is very fresh (of course!) and it is very reasonable priced.

Instead of visiting Tsukiji Market, we should really appreciate what we have in our backyard. Thoroughly enjoyed Melvin Sim's tour of Jurong Fishery Port. The next time you enjoy your favourite fish soup, remember that some v hardworking folks toiled through the night to ensure we enjoy fresh seafood. My favourite part is observing the rapport that Melvin has built with stall owners. So nice to see a young man being so passionate and respectful about a trade that is often underappreciated. Don't forget to bring your cooler bags and cash if you want to stock up on fresh and frozen seafood. Hai Sia's wide variety of seafood packs in handy portions are reasonably priced and make food prep super easy.

An enriching and eye-opening experience at Jurong Fishery Port, it was indeed a feast for our senses, the sounds, smells, sight and people are unforgettable. Thank you to Melvin Sim of Hai Sia Seafood who made this tour most interesting and the residents are very pleased to be able to snatch some really fresh seafood and some exercising their bargaining skills for great discounts.

It was a really interesting and educational tour about the port and tough life of those in the fishing trade or food industry. Got to know about the interesting way of life, culture of the close knitted community and an unknown side of Singapore. Melvin was a fun and engaging guide! And not pushy to sell his company's products. Highly recommend this!

I learned about the Hai Sia public tour about 6 months ago and was so excited since I booked a trip to Singapore with my mom. Melvin was the one who responded to me and he was incredibly patience with all my questions. I chased him down a couple months later right before my trip and was so incredibly happy when Melvin confirmed they would be hosting another public tour during our stay in Singapore. It turned out Melvin was our guide and he did a great job providing an interesting and educational tour regarding the fishing industry in Singapore as well as insights into the daily operation at the fishery port. It is heartbreaking to learn that many has exited the industry because the younger generation is more accustomed to a certain type of fish like salmon or halibut in filet form (not the whole fish) which contributes to the shrinking of the fish market in Singapore.Living in the US, I can only dream of seeing such huge selection of fishes here in the market. I highly recommend this tour. Bring your friends, family and kids! See the fish market comes to life at midnight! Let Hai Sai opens your eyes to a whole new world of fishes!!

We've joined the free fishery port tour organized by Hai Sia Seafood last Friday night. It was an enlightening and captivating tour explaining the basics of Singapore fish industry. Highly recommended if you want to experience a different part of Singapore. The tour guide, Melvin, is also a very approachable and knowledgeable person. We've also appreciated how they make voluntary to buy their products at the end of the tour. Thank you to Hai Sia Food for this amazing opportunity!

Some reminders before you visit: The retail shop is open from 12.30am - 6am daily. Bring your identification to exchange for an entry pass at the security counter. Vehicles without a season pass will not be allowed to drive through security, so park your car nearby. It is about 100m to walk from the gate to the retail shop.Bring a cart of trolley if you intend to buy lots of food!Take plenty of ice shards to keep food fresh during transportation.In the retail shop that is open only during the above mentioned hours, you can find a good selection of frozen foreign aquatic foods including scallops, shrimps, fish, squids, and more. Presentation is direct and hygienic; the shop is well-lit and fridges are fitted with lighting tubes for illumination. Staff members are professionally dressed in boots, jackets, and wear gloves. Some shopkeepers may even give you a discount if you purchase more, so please feel free to ask.

This is the second time I am on the tour so you can gauge how cool and worthwhile it was to lose sleep over! Junting and Mevin's dedication to make this tour both meaningful and experiential has made this field trip the best one ever, both in terms of content and fun factor. As an educator from NUS, I can see the relevance of the content to what my students were learning. Inviting my students to join this tour made all the content in textbooks come alive. The students also appreciated the hospitality and willingness of the tour guides to share and answer questions. It was not just an educational tour. It was also allowed the youths to reflect on the hard work others put in to provide fresh fish on the table the next day. I highly recommend everyone to sign up for the tour to understand more! It's suitable for young, old and the curious!

Attended the fish market tour. Incredibly insightful to see how seafood is traded in Singapore. You get to see the fishing boats come in, showcase their daily catch (it's a lot!), see the traders negotiating prices. Hai Sia educated us on the different types of seafood, what to look out for when assessing the quality. Their friendly staff were very hospitable to us and ensured that despite the 1am start, we were all energised throughout! Highly recommend this!

I enjoyed my time at Hai Sia because the staff were very friendly to us. From this experience, I've learned that those who work at the fishery ports are some of the unsung heroes that deserve more recognition in Singapore. It is very interesting to learn the real importance of these fisheries in regards to our food industries and restaurant businesses.

The fishery tour was really educational and interesting depicting the true tales of the lives dedicated to this trade putting fresh seafood on our meals daily. Helped me understand the insights of the trade giving a whole new experience to buying and consuming seafood and even learning the trick of eating a whole pomfret so easily with just chopsticks! Great to bring young and old for a whole new experience and i encourage everyone to go! Awesome way to educate! Thank you to Hai Sia folks for your dedication!
